    Team Dakar USA Rides Roller Coaster in Central Europe Rally Veszprem, Hungary - The course was once again centered around the ex-military base outside of Veszprem, which provided an emotional roller coaster ride for Robby Gordon and Andy Grider’s. Stage five started out strong with the Monster Energy Hummer taking its first special win in the Central Europe Rally. With that strong performance the team moved to within three minutes of the top spot held by Carlos Sainz.  - more

Wolfsburg - In the Central Europe Rally, held in Hungary and Romania, Volkswagen remains in a promising position when it comes to securing the overall win: on the leg from Debrecen to Veszprem, Carlos Sainz/Michel Périn (E/F) gave Volkswagen the fourth consecutive leg win, thus working their way up to fifth position in the overall rankings. The 2007 overall FIA Cross Country World Cup winners now lie some four minutes behind in the overall rankings, thus keeping their chance of winning the event alive. - more

    Baia Mare, Romania -  For the second stage in Romania, there were again plenty of changes both on the track as well as in the standings. Heavy rain soaked the route of the special all morning, turning the first loop into a veritable hell-hole for the competitors and especially the trucks.     Robby finishes with a strong 9th place in the 2nd leg of the 3rd stage Baia Mare, Romania - He drove his Hummer H3 finishing with a time of 25 minutes 45 seconds. Carlos Sainz won the stage finishing a minute and 15 seconds faster than Gordon. We did not have to do any travel last night; today’s stage was the same as yesterday’s stage but backwards. - more

    Mountains Challenge Team Dakar USA on Stage Two Baia Mare, Romania – The second stage of the Central Europe Rally proved to be quite the challenge for Team Dakar USA. The mountainous tracks on the outskirts of Baia Mare proved to favor the four-wheel drive vehicles today. Recent snow storms left the tracks muddy in places and made the rocky course very slippery. - more

    All change in the general standings, Central Europe Rally - Baia Mare, Romania - The first Romanian special stage held many surprises in store for the competitors in this first Central Europe Rally. It has to be said that the especially muddy terrain in the first loop of the special stage caused misery for a good number of riders and drivers, to such an extent that the organisers decided to shorten the route for the second loop. - more
