Rick Deremo Wins XRRA™ Western Division Season Opener On Toyo®
-
MOAB, UTAH – Rick Deremo of Team Xtreme Motorsports defeated 34 entries
in the XRRA (Xtreme Rock Racing) Western Division season opener this
past weekend in Moab, Utah, while racing on 40X13.50R17 Toyo Open
Country M/T-R tires. This marks a historic first-ever win for a car in
rock racing using an independent front suspension. This innovative
“Deremo chassis” is constructed by Randy Rodd at Jimmy’s 4X4 in Cortez,

Deremo. “Toyo Open Country M/T tires clean-out better in the mud and
bite better in the rock.”

BIFFLE
PREPS TO TACKLE DESERT WITH F-150 SVT RAPTOR
Primm, Nev. — Greg Biffle is a racer’s racer who will drive
anything—anytime, anyplace—and that includes the new Ford F-150 SVT
Raptor R at next week’s Best in the Desert Terrible’s 250 at Primm.
Biffle,
who is used to driving his NASCAR Ford Fusion around oval race tracks at
close to 200 miles per hour, agreed to drive the F-150 SVT Raptor a
couple months ago when Ford engineers were looking for some professional
feedback.
“When I think of Raptor the first thing that comes to mind is a proven
off-road piece with its finish in the Baja 1000, and I think it’s a
long-time overdue, if you want my opinion,” said Biffle, who is
participating in the event’s Fun Run on April 16, before heading to
Phoenix for Saturday night’s NASCAR event.
“Up to this point, no manufacturer has built a truck like this. People
had to do it themselves, so there’s a definite market out there and I’m
excited about it. I’ve been paying attention and watching some of the
desert testing that they’ve done and I can’t wait.” -

PORTER / WHELCHEL - ONE TWO PUNCH IN LUCAS RACING
SERIES
Chandler AZ - Off road racing veteran driver/team owner Mark Porter
teams up with gunslinger Jerry Whelchel in the yellow FORD #2 truck as
Whelchel splits the atom running in both TORC and BITD for CHM and now
LOORS with Mark Porter's PRO2 campaign.
"I'm happy to participate this year with Mark. With a championship here
and there between us in the desert we've known each other a long time,
there's allot of good history between us.." stated Whelchel.
"Chet (Team CHM owner) is concentrating his efforts understandably to
his Aerospace business while still maintaining the #1 championship
winning BITD campaign and now the TORC series with the #1 Pro2. This in
itself, even in a great economy is a full "all hands on deck" commitment
and I'm just lucky I can "do it all" as a driver.
"I called Jerry and started talking before either series had even taken
shape looking to capitalize on the moment and I'm happy to say it
worked. Jerry is a deadly threat to anybody in off road racing and we
finally get to combine and corral that talent together" said Team

TORC Announces
Relocation of the Manzanita Raceway Event
Crandon, WI -TORC has announced the relocation of its season opener of
the 2009 race season scheduled to be held at Manzanita Speedway in
Phoenix, Arizona on May 15-16 2009.
TORC's director of business affairs, Tiffany Landru made the following

closed-course off-road racing to support the teams and the
marketability to provide series sponsors with the opportunity to grow
and brand a fan base.
The Traxxas TORC Series-The Off Road Championship, presented by AMSOIL
is the world's premier off road series, bringing together the best of
Midwest short course off-road racing with exciting new West Coast
venues. TORC drivers push the limits with action-packed fender

Inaugural Midwest Off-Road Racing Safety & Marketing
Seminar Deemed a Success
-
Abrams, WI – Even with snow still covering the local
farm fields, over two hundred off-road road
enthusiasts came together for the inaugural Off-Road
Racing Safety and Marketing Seminar in Abrams,
Wisconsin. The event coordinator, Don Demeny, put his
idea into motion, in seven short weeks, and the
response to the event exceeded expectations. Thirteen
vendors were in attendance representing over thirty
different companies that are involved in either
motorsports safety or marketing.
The Saturday afternoon seminar began with Don Demeny
thanking all the people in attendance. Then he turned
over the microphone to any of the vendors that wanted
to say a few words about their company.
Jeff Lenz, of Attitude Motorsports, started the
session off with a great presentation on motorsports
marketing and how his company can improve your race
team’s ability to catch the attention of potential
marketing partners.
Aaron Zentgraf, of Safety Solutions, added a brief
presentation about safety in motorsports and the
products his company offers.
Mike Reusche, of Phil’s Inc. and MT Graphics, briefly
explained about the parts business and the marketing
business he owns and operates.
The final presenter of the afternoon, Curt Tucker of
Teamtech Motorsports, also offered some insight to
some of the latest safety products his company and how
