Taylor Perseveres Through Perris – Stays in Race for Championship
Belvidere, IL - Fresh off his Round Two victory, Scott Taylor and his #8
Skyjacker ATD BFGoodrich Ford F-150 was looking to Perris keep the
pressure on PRO-2WD points leader Ricky Johnson. With the assistance of
Mike Kasch, Russ Wernimont and the West Coast pit crew. Taylor Racing’s
weekend looked very promising, but a missed chassis setup meant a missed
opportunity.
The afternoon practice session saw the familiar red white and blue
Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford F-150 run some of the faster laps of the
group. Taylor and his team were ready for the evening’s main event. -

Oberg Shows Potential, Looks to Crandon for Redemption
-
Eagle
River, WI - Mike Oberg brought his #80 AMSOIL Kumho Tire Chevy PRO-2WD
race truck looking to end his string of unique on-track incidents that
has prevented strong finishes in the opening rounds of the Traxxas
TORC series presented by AMSOIL. The weekend on the West Coast saw the
race truck perform well, only to come up a little short of
expectations.
The two Friday afternoon practice sessions really helped Mike and his
crew chief, Cory Lambert fine tune his Keith Stamper built chassis. As
the sun set, the moisture in the clay track seemed to rise to the
surface giving the TORC competitors a great surface for the third
round of the TORC series. - more

Perris, CA - THE Traxxas Off-Road Championship set the night on fire at
Perris Auto Speedway (PAS) with some of the closest, most action-packed

door-to-door racing, roaring fans on their feet, and hotly contested
lead changes that separated the podium finishers by mere fractions of a
second. At the end of the weekend, Traxxas driver Rick Huseman scored a
win in Saturday's Pro 4X4 competition while Jeff Kincaid earned the top
spot on the podium with a victory in Pro Light. Mike Jenkins (47) ripped

Madison, WI - After thoroughly dominating and winning the Super Truck
division of the now defunct World Series of Off-Road Racing, Keith
Steele found a new challenge, competing in the PRO-2WD ranks of the
Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. Along the way, Steele Off-Road

The economic times of our country, and all the off-season changes in the

Kevin Pence-built PRO-2WD, in the TORC season. Regardless, the decision
was made to come to Texas of the TORC opener, to see how the team

RED BULL OFF-ROAD RACING BARLOW MOTORSPORTS TEAM SETS WINNING
STANDARD IN TEXAS
Fort Worth, Texas—With rounds one and two of the inaugural season of the
Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL now in the books, it’s clear
that the Red Bull Off-Road Racing Barlow Motorsports team of Steve
Barlow and Ricky Johnson are on top of their game.
It’s not often that a brand-new truck can be a factor in a highly
competitive class like TORC Pro 2WD. But when Ricky Johnson qualified
third right out of the box in the number 48 Red Bull F-150, there was
little doubt that Barlow Motorsports had the truck well sorted out and
ready to race. What came next was more impressive yet. In the very first
round of TORC Pro 2WD racing, Johnson and the number 48 Red Bull Ford
were a factor from the drop of the green flag. -

ROCKSTAR MAKITA TEAM LEDUC PROVES STRENGTH IN PERFORMANCE AT TORC
OPENER
FT. WORTH, TEXAS The Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc takes home four podium
finishes at the opening weekend of The Off Road Racing Series (TORC)
this past weekend. The eight event race series began with a bang on May
14 and 15 in Ft. Worth, Texas, starting off with Todd LeDuc finishing
third Friday evening in the Pro 2WD class after fending off Traxxas’s
Mark Jenkins and passing Rob MacCachren in the final laps. Kyle LeDuc
was not so lucky in his Leatt Brace/Rockstar sponsored Pro Lite ride.
After starting on the pole position, Kyle received a flat rear tire on
the first lap causing him to pull into the hot pits, loosing valuable
lap time. Both Curt and Kyle LeDuc unleashed their Pro 4x4 trucks in the
final 20 lap race of the night. Although Kyle started in the number 2
position, it was Curt who clenched the number 2 spot on the podium with
Kyle finishing in a close fourth place. -

Eric Vigouroux Wins Stage 7 of the Rallye OiLibya of Tunisia
-
OUENI , LIBYA - Today, it was a case of what could have been for
Pro-System Racing. Just 40 km into the race, the alternator light came
on. Worrying since the car already suffered alternator problems back on
the first half of the marathon stage 5. Things didn't improve.
2 km later, the Trophy Truck ground to a halt when the alternator let
go. This is desperately bad news because both Eric and Alex know well
from their earlier experience that the alternator is difficult to reach
requiring much dismantling. The technical term for this, even in the
workshop, is "A pig of a job" Bleeding knuckles and much swearing ensued
for the next 30 minutes when the truck was back up and running. -

1600’s have a little more travel, unlimited gearing, and 10-15 more
horsepower then the light buggies. Matt and his team were up to the

A New Era for Off-Road
Racing and Ross Hoek Motorsports
Holland MI - Ross Hoek Motorsports has been preparing for the 2009
off-road race season since last October, even though the off-season has
been filled with the uncertainty of not knowing when and where everyone
was going to race. Ultimately, Ross knew there would be racing in the
Midwest, but didn’t know if his team would be heading to the West Coast.
The off-season wasn’t just the usual race truck maintenance, or building
his race winning chassis’ for his fellow competitors, but exploring new
marketing avenues to find funding for the team’s upcoming season. The
condition of our country’s economy combined with all the change in the
sport, has seen teams, like Ross Hoek Motorsports, look to very creative
