Mason Wins PRO-Super
Buggy Championship with Mendeola
Plymouth, WI (September 3, 2008) - John Mason entered the final
weekend of the 2008 WSORR race season with a thirty-seven point
lead over second place, Gary Nierop. The hard charging Mason has
finished on the podium nine times out of ten, and needed to
finish in eighth place or better in Round XI to clinch the
PRO-Super Buggy Championship. The question was, should John play
it safe, or go for the win and the World Championship ring that
comes with the win on Saturday? -

Dan Vanden Heuvel Wins
PRO-2WD Championship
Appleton, WI – Dan Vanden Heuvel Sr. and his #77 Flying
Dutchman Auto Trans Design AMSOIL Maxxis Tire Chevy Silverado
entered the final weekend of the World Series of Off-Road Racing
with a thirty-two point lead over second place. The Flying
Dutchman could claim the championship on Saturday, if the team
finished in sixth place or better, in Round XI. The veteran
off-road racer did exactly that, and came home with his first
championship since 1994. -

Sweeps Crandon - Wins WSORR Stock Truck Championship
Chetek, WI - Eric Ruppel and his #837 PHILSINC.com Art Carr
Transmissions AMSOIL BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 completed the
season with back to back wins to capture the 2008 WSORR SRT
Stock Truck Championship. Eric graduated from the Grassroots
Formula 4x4 division four years ago, and has gradually improved
his race program every year. Thanks to his long time supporters
like BFGoodrich Tires, Art Carr Transmission, Halama Synthetics-AMSOIL,
and Phil’s Inc., Eric and his crew are now champions. -

O’Donnell Finish Second & Third in PRO-Light Championship
Lake Zurich, IL - Sticker Dude Motorsports headed
to Crandon’s Labor Day Weekend Classic, with thoughts of winning
the 2008 WSORR Pro-Light Championship. As the teams headed to
the 39th edition of the BorgWarner Off-Road Championships for
the final weekend of WSORR racing, teammates Steven Federico and
Lee O’Donnell still had a shot for the championship. Steven, in
his #24 Invisible Glass P.F. Changs Hankook Tires Toyota Tacoma,
was in second place, and Lee O’Donnell, in his #23 Hankook Tire
Invisible Glass P.F. Changs Toyota Tacoma, was just a few points
behind Steven, in third place. -

Waldvogel Finishes Rookie Pro-2WD Campaign in the Top-Five
Fond du Lac, WI - The 2008 WSORR season came to a close over this past
weekend at the biggest race of the year, the 2008 BorgWarner Off-Road
World Championships, held at the historic Crandon International Off-Road
Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin. 2008 was a roller coaster season for driver
Dave Waldvogel and the Bendix® Brakes/Toyo Tires Pro-2WD team, with
glimpses of speed and potential mixed in with some gut-wrenching DNF’s.
The team was eager to get on the track in Crandon, where driver Dave
Waldvogel has had huge success over the past few years. -

Steele set up shop at Crandon International Raceway with their eye on

RENO, NEVADA – Curt LeDuc marched to another Best In The Desert
(BITD) series Class 8000 win during last weekend’s TSCO Vegas to
Reno race while on Toyo® Open Country M/T® tires. LeDuc’s
victory was remarkable, as his Rockstar/Makita/KC HiLites/Kal
Gard Lubricants/Toyo Tires® Ford F-150 outpaced the second place
truck in his class by more than five hours by the end of the

Belvidere, IL – Scott Taylor, the six time PRO-2 champion,
looked to the second half of the 2008 CORR season as a time to
show the fans and the competition that the #8 Skyjacker
Suspensions RWD Roush-Yates Engine BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150,
should not be counted out. The first half of the season, Scott
Taylor and chief engineer, Russ Wernimont had been struggling
with a new truck and powerplant issues. The team has spent hours
upon hours testing different setups, and after going back to
notes from a few years ago, Scott and Russ believe they have the
program going in the right direction. -

team has grabbed the championship lead. Douglas Motorsports has
combined qualifying, near or at the top of the charts all season, and
consistent podium finishes, to take the lead, over second place, Carl

Flying Dutchman Drives Round Ten for Greaves Motorsports
Appleton, WI - Dan Vanden Heuvel Sr. went to the CORR
event in Pomona, California as a spectator, but ended his
weekend as a competitor. Dan drove for Greaves Motorsports, on
Sunday, in Round Ten, in both the PRO-4 and PRO-2 competition.
Due to a severe crash by Johnny Greaves in Round Nine, Greaves
Motorsports needed an extra truck and a replacement driver to
finish out the weekend. The severely bent PRO-4 was replaced
with the Jenkins Brothers Traxxas backup PRO-4 truck and Dan
Vanden Heuvel Sr. became the replacement driver for both the
PRO-2 and the PRO-4 race trucks. -

M/T-R® tires. Competing against a 15-truck field, Kyle LeDuc won
the race by a margin of some four seconds with his #99 Rockstar/Makita/Kal
Gard Lubricants/Toyo Tires® Ford F-150. This was his first win
in the Pro 4 class. Rick Huseman placed second with his #3

World Series of Off-Road Racing has added special coverage of the Tour
2008 season on VERSUS TV Network. WSORR will be
featured on the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour twice in August.
The broadcasts are in addition to WSORR’s well-received
off-road racing action on SPEED TV, which begins airing in
November, 2008. The special WSORR highlights episode
from Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., on VERSUS is
scheduled to air on Saturday August 16, 2008 at 6 PM EDT.
A repeat is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 5 PM on

OIL TEAM IGNITES THE OSHKOSH CROWD
New Lenox, IL - The first back to back night races on the WSORR
schedule sparked light on the great race action of the WSORR
series and the E3 Spark Plugs / Team Lucas / Toyo race team of
Kevin and Jon Probst. The team came to Oshkosh with high hopes
to carry the great momentum from the first half season of WSORR
racing. -
