Terrible’s
Town “250”
“The Richest Off-Road Race in Nevada”
Las Vegas, Nevada – The exciting 2007 “Silver State Series”,
Terrible’s Town “250”, will be held April 27, 28, 29, 2007, in
Pahrump, Nevada, promoted by Best In The Desert Racing Association
and hosted by Terrible’s Town Casino. A $40,000 guaranteed total
purse makes this “The Richest Off-Road Race in Nevada.” NEW for the
2007 race $20,000 will be awarded to the 1st Overall Car/Truck
winner. The remainder of the prize money will be distributed for
class payback. This is a great opportunity to race a great course
and to take home a lot of prize money! Theoretically, if you win the
Terrible's Town "250" in aFord Trick Truck you could go home with
another $10,000 from Ford, for a total of over $30,000 for a great
day of racing!
The Terrible’s Town “250” is a 250-mile loop race which will start
and finish in Pahrump, Nevada, located 60 miles Northwest of Las
Vegas on Highway 160. The event will feature a full array of
off-road vehicles, which include, Motorcycles, Quads, Cars and
Trucks. Best In The Desert Director Casey Folks says, “This is the
nineth year of the Terrible’s Town “250” and I expect a record
number of Car and Truck entries racing for the additional $40,000.
This is a big, big event, which is growing in popularity every year,
in fact, I expect the 2007 “Silver State Series” racing year to be
bigger than ever! Remember, life is an adventure and your adventure
continues at the Terrible’s Town “250”.”
Jerry, Ed, Tim, and Troy Herbst, who all love the sport of off-road
racing, make a special contribution to this event by sponsoring a
big after-race “Western Barbecue” celebration in the parking lot of
their Terrible’s Town Casino. After a hard day of racing, it’s a
great way to finish the day; eating barbecue chicken and watching
the racers come in! The Awards Presentation will be held on Sunday
at the Terrible’s Lakeside Casino & RV Park, which was voted in the
top 100 most beautiful RV Parks in the country. Folks says, “We
could not have had a more beautiful setting for the awards last
year, I can’t wait to go back!” There will also be a free fireworks
show Friday night at the Terrible’s Lakeside by the beautiful lake.
The 2006 “Silver State Series” Car and Truck winners, winning 1st in
the 1500 Professional Class and 1st overall were John Herder and
Steve Melton, driving a Jimco, in 4:01:29, and Garron Cadiente and
Chris Godfrey, driving a Ford Trick Truck, won 1st in the 1400 Trick
Truck Class, in 4:03:19.
The Motorcycle and Quad racers have been transferred from the
Terrible's Town "250" in April and a new race was created for the
MC/Q community two weeks later in Parker, AZ, the new BlueWater Gran
Prix, May 18, 19, 20. The reasons for taking the MC/Q community out
of this race are a few, first and foremost was safety. NDOT, Nevada
Department of Transportation, has placed time limits on the road
crossings; we have very tight restrictions as to the very last time
we can cross the roads. “I did not feel it was safe for the
Motorcycle’s and Quads to put the Cars and Trucks on the same course
with a limited time restriction. The race entries are growing and it
was getting very difficult to get everyone in on time,” says Casey
Folks, Director of Best In The Desert.
Major sponsors of the Best In The Desert Terrible's Town "250" are

Registration, Technical Inspection and Contingency will be held
Friday, April 27, 2007, from 10am to 6pm. On Saturday, the
Terrible’s Town “250” starts North of Pahrump and finishes at the
Terrible’s Town Casino right off Highway-160. The Cars and Trucks
will start at approximately 8:00 am. For more information regarding
