Reinertson Johnson Racing debuts new Protruck at BITD Parker 425.

The Blue Water Resort and Casino Parker 425 was the first event RJR entered with their brand new race truck. In fact it was so new it almost didn’t make to Parker, Arizona event. Actually the team finished the truck the night before, and made it through tech inspection just in time for qualifying.

Not knowing any of the characteristics of the new #1234 Ford F-150 ProTruck, Rob Reinertson and Rick Johnson hoped for the best. Their qualifying run found themselves 15th out of 20. Considering their situation, the team was content.

Race day saw Rob Reinertson driving the first two laps, with Rick Johnson making the final lap. Riding shotgun for the entire event was Mike Salimbeni. The actual race went fairly well, the truck just didn’t have any of the fine-tuning done ahead of time to really get the proper suspension set up. In the end the team finished 6th out of the 20 Protrucks that started.

“All things considered the race went fairly well. We learned a lot about the truck at Parker. We will have a lot of time to sort it out before we go to Mexico for the 500. We will be ready to compete for the win.”-Rob Reinertson

Next Event for the #1234 RJR Ford F-150 will be the SCORE Tecate Baja 500 on June 2-4.

RJR Off-Road Racing still has marketing opportunities available for the 2006 Protruck series as well as their soon to be completed Trophy Truck.
