CORR RULE BOOK HIGHLIGHTS
Newport Beach, CA (January 26, 2007)—Championship Off Road Racing is proud
of its safety record, and is constantly evaluating safety enhancements to
benefit racers, crew members and spectators.
Pending the forthcoming release of Championship Off Road Racing’s 2007
Official Rule Book on January 31, racers and teams will want to make note
of the following changes for the 2007 race season.
• Full face automotive helmets, bearing a SNELL Foundation certification
of no more than five (5) years old, are required. Open face or motorcycle
helmets are not allowed.
• All drivers must utilize one of the following head and neck restraining
systems; D-Cell, R3 or Hybrid.
• All drivers must wear fire-proof gloves.
• All Single and Super Buggy vehicles must utilize 1.5” x 0.095” wall
tubing surrounding the driver’s compartment.
• Fuel cell mounting specifications have been enhanced to ensure the cell
remains securely attached to the vehicle.
• All Pro classes are required to utilize a Halon fire suppression system
(minimum 5 lbs.). In addition, each vehicle must carry a portable fire
extinguisher, mounted securely within the driver’s reach.
