FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NASCAR VETERAN ROBBY GORDON AND CHAMPIONSHIP OFF ROAD RACING
RUMBLES INTO TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY FOR TWO DAYS OF ACTION PACKED
RACING ON OCT. 19-20
Newport Beach, CA
(Oct. 4, 2007) - The Points battle is heating up as CORR rides
into Texas for the first time on October 19th and 20th. With
only two race weekends left in the 2007 CORR season the pressure
is on and the racing is sure to be intense at Texas Motor
Speedway.
Baja 1000 winner and NASCAR Veteran Robby Gordon is back for two
full days of racing action. He will be racing in both the Lucas
Oil Series Pro 2 point’s races as well as the Pro 2 Jason
Baldwin Cup Qualifier. Some of his competition will include
seven time Supercross/Motocross Champion Ricky Johnson, current
Pro 2 points leader Jerry Whelchel and three time CORR champion
Carl Renezeder.
“I’m really looking forward to the event at Texas Motor
Speedway. I always love going to a new track. It means everyone
has the same empty notebook, and it tests a team’s ability to
adapt quickly to a track,” said Carl Renezeder.
The dirt will fly and tempers will flare as the 2007
Championships are on the line going into Texas. The point’s race
is tighter then ever, Carl Renezeder currently leads the Pro 4
point’s race and is currently contending for the Pro 2
Championship.
Our goals at the beginning of the season were to win as many
races as possible, be consistently on the podium, defend our
Pro-2 Championship and earn the Pro-4 Championship,” said
Renezeder. As we go from race to race, we set our goals to win
every time we take to the track. By doing that, the
championships follow. I’d like to say we’re just focused on the
points and the big picture, but the truth is we want to win
races. If we get that right, then we’ll earn the title,” added
defending Pro 2 Champion Carl Renezeder.
Renezeder will need to pass seven time Supercross Champion Ricky
Johnson and current points leader Jerry Whelchel driver of the #
41 Monster Energy Drink Ford to win the Pro 2 Championship.
The competition is really competitive in the Pro 2 class, it
makes for great racing, anything can happen,” said Jerry
Whelchel. “My strategy going into Texas and Primm is to be on
top of the podium, I know if I do that the # 41 will take home
the Championship,” added Pro 2 point’s leader Whelchel.
Tickets can be purchased onsite at Texas Motor Speedway starting
tomorrow Oct. 5th. Tickets can also be purchased online at
