Live Web Coverage of the Bilstein Terrible's 250 presented by General Tire

Las Vegas, NV – This weekend from Primm, Nevada, Bilstein shock absorbers and General Tire present complete live web coverage of a Best in the Desert event for the first time in the history of the racing series. Race fans around the world are invited to watch simply by logging onto www.SopwithMotorsports.com, free of charge with no registration required.

The live webcast of the Bilstein Terrible's 250 presented by General Tire will be produced by Sopwith Motorsports Television Productions and hosted by veteran desert racing announcer Jeff "Surfrat" Arganda.

Viewers may visit www.SopwithMotorsports.com and click on the “Sopwith Live” button to view the live webcast starting at 9:00 am on Friday, April 17th, 2009, with coverage continuing throughout Saturday’s 250-mile race and the awards presentation on Sunday morning. The webcast is free to the public with no registration or login required to view the race.

“There are some obvious technical limitations in webcasting but we hope to raise the bar,” said Sopwith CEO Stephen Cox. “We’re using a higher definition camera that will offer the best picture possible without freezing and jumping. We’ll have single camera coverage of contingency and the race, combined with two or three mobile camera units that will cover interviews, pit action, team updates, and other things that are beyond the reach of our main camera. This is not a television program and it won’t look like one. But we’re bringing some new ideas to webcasting and pushing the envelope of what can be done live on the internet.”
