The Pro 2WD championship chase was by far the closest, making every turn

Fall Finale Has Great Racer Turnout
Weyauwega, WI - The final weekend of off-road racing in the Upper
Midwest saw ninety-five Sportsman racers enter the Fall Finale in
Weyauwega, Wisconsin. The Waupaca County Fairgrounds with its covered
concrete grandstands and a .75 mile harness racing track was an
excellent venue to create a stadium style track with all the amenities.
The cold temperatures (in the mid 40’s) didn’t keep the racing from
getting hot.
Each day saw the competitors compete in ten lap races, on the Jake Vande
Voort designed track that consisted of high speed jumps, a rhythm
section, a high bank corner, a great table top jump, and a sandy, but
fast back stretch The track surface itself, was a mixture of clay, sand,
and dirt. This really presented a challenge many racers had not seen in
a very long time. The racers lined up in rows of two, from a standing
start. - more

Appleton, WI - Mike Vanden Heuvel will exchange his traditional double
sevens for the Probst Motorsports number five Unlimited Lite. Jon Probst,
the regular driver, will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2009
season with back issues. The decision was made to substitute Mike rather
than risk further injury. Obviously, the first concern was for the
health and safety of ‘Jonny5,’ but as they say, the show must go on.
“The Probst family is one of only a handful with more history in short
course than my own,” said Mike “so I was flattered when asked to drive,
and jumped at the opportunity.” Already a World Champion, the 23 year
old’s resume also includes a buggy championship in 2008, along with many
race wins. Mike has very limited Pro Lite/ Unlimited Lite experience,
but did manage a fourth place finish in this year’s Decision at Sundown
