Lincoln
Trail Motorsports Park - Casey, IL This annual event has over twenty
years of history. The final event of the year had something for
everyone, a short course event, a night run, 200k enduro, and pig roast!
Over the
years MAORA and Lincoln Trail Motorsports Park have worked together to
offer some of the best off-road racing in the Midwest. Here is a
brief report on the weekend.
October
brought to an end yet another successful season to Mid-America Offroad
Associations long running series. As one of the longest continuous
running racing organizations in the United States the Fall Classic
brought drivers and fans in from as far away as North Carolina and
Florida to the Lincoln Trail MotorSports Park. It all started Friday
morning with a few local racers setting up camp as the Lupfer Team
Pulling in from Florida came racing into the park sideways with a
brand new buggy and high hopes. By Night fall spectator hill was
filling up fast and the Rooster Racing Team bon fire could be seen all
over camp with the help from a Albin Beach racing VW block donation.
As the bench racing began hard and fast, so did the talk of Extreme
4x4 being on site to put us all on film.
As the fire dies down the camp became quiet but not for long as
sunrise brought to life race engines and the smell of race gas and
bacon filled the air. As racers and fans began to stir Extreme 4x4 was
already walking the grounds doing interviews and filming. When Tech
closed we was able to report the best turnout all year and can
contribute that to Jim Conner Racing and all the contingency sponsors
that came on board this year. Those sponsors are as follows ART CARR
TRANSMISSIONS, AMERICAN RACING WHEELS, AUTOMETER, DUSTY TIMES, DYNOMAX
EXHAUST, KC HILITES, K&N FILTERS, JANETS CAFÉ, MSD IGNITIONS, MECHANIX
WEAR, OPTIMA BATTERIES, PHIL'S INC, POWER TANK, RANCHO SUSPENSIONS,
and RACEREADY PRODUCTS with a total driver payback of $19,156.00. We
are extremely grateful for these companies coming on board and look
forward to promoting their products for years to come. Without their
support this season would have been very difficult for some drivers.
Saturday and Sunday the races were very exciting to watch and drive in
as usual no one gave anyone any slack. A couple classes were decided
before the Fall Classic but a couple came down to who finished where
for the day. Fall Classic and the season final points can be seen at
http://www.maoraracing.us .
We look forward to continued success in 2007 as our contingency
program builds with Jim Conner racing. Anyone wanting to be a
contingency sponsor can send an email to
maoraracing@aol.com . Thanks
again to everyone who made 2006 a great success!!!! See you all again
in 2007. - By Rooster
