Heading into "1000"
Los Angeles, CA - Following the first four of five
races in the 2008 SCORE Desert Series, 15 of SCORE’s
toughest drivers are in the hunt to earn 2008 SCORE
Toyota Milestone Awards. A Nevada father and son team
leads the way as Reno’s Rod Hall drives a Hummer H3
in the Stock Mini class and his youngest son Chad
drives a Hummer H3Alpha in Stock Full.Giving Nevada
four of the 15 racers still in the hunt for 2008
Toyota Milestone Awards are Las Vegas’ B.J. Baldwin
and B.J. Richardson. Baldwin leads the points in the
featured SCORE Trophy-Truck division in the No. 97
Baldwin Motorsports Chevy Silverado while Richards
leads the unlimited Class 1 in a Chevy-powered

CHAMPIONS” HONORS OFF-ROAD STARS
Milwaukee, WI – The Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR)
will recap and celebrate its 2008 season during the third annual
“Night of Champions” Awards Banquet at the Potawatomi Bingo and Casino
in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Saturday, October 4th. Major WSORR sponsors
and dignitaries will be on hand for the “invitation only” ceremony to
help recognize Series champions and manufacturer points winners and to
witness the announcement of “PRO and SRT (Sportsman) Drivers and
Rookies-of-the-year”. Prestigious World Championship rings will also
be handed out to 2008 winners in 11 World Series classes, among other
awards. -

Douglas Injury Update - Recovery is Going as Planned

CA – As many of you are aware, Scott Douglas was involved in a
hard crash during practice at the CORR event in Chula Vista last
weekend. It’s been a week since his surgery, to repair the multiple
injuries to his left leg, suffered as a result of the crash. Here’s a

a prelude to November’s 41st Annual Tecate SCORE Baja
1000 desert race, SCORE International has announced
that a LIVE drawing for starting positions will be
held during an open- house
on Saturday, Oct.
11 at the newest Off Road Warehouse facility in
Temecula, Calif. With over 300 entries expected from
30 U.S. States and a dozen countries to compete in 27
Pro and 6 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks,
motorcycles and ATVs, the granddaddy of all desert
races will be held Nov. 19-23 in Ensenada, Mexico.
Completing its 35th year as the World’s foremost
desert racing sanctioning body, the event is the
finale of the five-race 2008 SCORE Desert Series. -

Move Forward with New AMSOIL Kumho PRO-2 Truck
Eagle River, WI – After a solid run back at Crandon, Oberg
Motorsports quickly headed back to the West Coast for Round 11
and 12, of the rock’em sock’em world of Championship Off-Road
Racing. The previous stop in Pomona saw Mike bring his brand new
truck out on the track, due to a hard crash in qualifying. At
the time, the “2008” chassis had never been tested, let alone
put competition, until it called into duty. -

Taylor Keeps Progressing – Has Solid Finish in Round 12
Belvidere, IL - After win the BorgWarner Cup in Crandon,
WI, Scott Taylor and his team only had a few days to prep his
truck for the rigors of Championship Off-Road Racing’s Round 11
and 12 at The Quarry. Currently, Taylor Racing is in eighth
place in the CORR PRO-2 standings, and with only five rounds of
racing before the Baldwin Cup, every championship point is more

Douglas Injures Knee in Practice – Chad Hord Gets
Behind the Wheel
El Cajon, CA – Friday afternoon during a
practice session for CORR Rounds 11 and 12, Scott
Douglas went end over end as he drove over the start
finish line table top jump. The ensuing incident
left Scott Douglas with a trip to the hospital, and
a totaled race truck. The injury sustained to his
knee, will prevent Scott from racing this weekend,
and possibly the rest of the season. Chad Hord,
champion PRO-Lite driver, has been tabbed to fill
the seat, in the Douglas Motorsports back-up race
truck, for the weekend events in Chula Vista.

Won’t Keep Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc Leader Sidelined
CHERRY VALLEY, Calif. – Leave it to Curt LeDuc to find
a unique way to commemorate the Labor Day weekend.
None of those backyard barbecues or trips to the
Colorado River or RV sites at Auto Club Speedway in
Fontana for him. Instead, the leader of Rockstar
Makita Team LeDuc went off-road racing in Crandon,
Wis. – and came home with a broken left leg, his first
serious injury in 35 years of desert and short course
racing. “I should be fine by Saturday,” LeDuc said
Wednesday morning as the team prepared to depart for
Chula Vista, Calif., and this weekend’s (Sept. 13-14)
rounds of the Championship Off-Road Racing series. -

Eagle River, WI - Oberg Motorsports used this weekend to officially
debut its new race truck. The team actually threw the
new truck to the wolves, at the last CORR event, due
to a hard crash the primary truck took while
qualifying. Mike and the crew hurriedly got the new
truck race ready without any seat time in the new hot
rod. The results were were less than stellar, but the
team was able to establish a baseline for future
chassis changes. -

and TROPHYLITE Destroy Sportsman Truck Field at Score
PRIMM 300
Heber, CA – In an effort to continually research
and develop the TROPHYLITE race truck, TROPHYLITE
founder Matt Scaroni entered in the Sportsman Truck
class for this past weekend’s SCORE Terrible’s Primm
300 in Primm, Nevada. After electing to take a rear
start. Scaroni, with Co-Rider and General Tire
Executive Tony Talbert, physically passed all seven
other vehicles in their class by mile 30. Scaroni and
Talbert completed the two required laps around the
unforgiving 74 mile Primm course with a blistering
average speed of 41.60 MPH. -

weekend of the 2008 WSORR race season with a thirty-seven point
lead over second place, Gary Nierop. The hard charging Mason has
finished on the podium nine times out of ten, and needed to
finish in eighth place or better in Round XI to clinch the
PRO-Super Buggy Championship. The question was, should John play

Appleton, WI – Dan Vanden Heuvel Sr. and his #77 Flying
Dutchman Auto Trans Design AMSOIL Maxxis Tire Chevy Silverado
entered the final weekend of the World Series of Off-Road Racing
with a thirty-two point lead over second place. The Flying
Dutchman could claim the championship on Saturday, if the team
finished in sixth place or better, in Round XI. The veteran
off-road racer did exactly that, and came home with his first

Stock Truck Championship. Eric graduated from the Grassroots
Formula 4x4 division four years ago, and has gradually improved

to Crandon’s Labor Day Weekend Classic, with thoughts of winning

the 39th edition of the BorgWarner Off-Road Championships for
the final weekend of WSORR racing, teammates Steven Federico and
Lee O’Donnell still had a shot for the championship. Steven, in

was in second place, and Lee O’Donnell, in his #23 Hankook Tire
