Messer Wins Mint 400
TROPHYLITE Goes 1-2-3

TROPHYLITE Manufactured Trucks finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the SNORE Mint 400. This event was outside of the 2008 TROPHYLITE Schedule, however five TROPHYLITE Teams competed in the Mini Metal Class.

The pack of Trucks was lead by Kingman AZ native Gary Messer. Messer was teamed with CORR driver of the year Rob "Fig" Naughton. Messer's day started off roughly with a bad crash. As the race progressed, patience and sheer perseverance put Messer and Naughton in the winners circle.

Finishing 2nd was the ever consistent John Murray. Murray ran consistent pace throughout the day and ended up on the podium. Murray is now 2 for 2 in second place finishes in his TROPHYLITE Truck.

Rounding off the podium in third was the father son team of Bruce and Ryan Finchum. The Finchum team is a family run race team that is supported by a large group of family and friends. Series Information
The next race for in the KMC TROPHYLITE Championship Series Presented by KC HiLiTES is Best in the Desert Blue Water Gran Prix May 16-18 followed by a trip south of the border for the CODE ORW Jacume Gran Prix August 1-2.

As I sat next the track watching the inaugural TROPHYLITE event at Snore Battle at Primm, I was reminisced in amazement by what we have created in such a short period of time. To think that only 8 months prior, this was all just an idea. While the racer in me was a little disappointed not be competing in the event, it was reassuring to see our customers all giving it 110% in hopes of winning. What really amazed me was to see all the trucks running a very similar pace. As I went on to watch this race, you could really tell that this is going to be a driver's class especially in the future when we get 40 or 50 of these trucks on a track at the same time.

The Lone Kid Racing Crew drove a hard but smart race and ended up winning. I think of the term "Mission Accomplished" when I recount how the race weekend unfolded. Here we had a relatively unknown driver and team stepping up and taking the win for the inaugural race. We formulated a plan to build a cost effective drivers class and to give racers a place to race head to head. At the end of the day everybody had a great time and the team that drove the smartest race won the event. Things are going according to plan.

As we plan ahead for the Round #2 in the KMC Wheels TROPHYLITE Series Presented by KC HiLiTES at the Best in the Desert Blue Water Gran Prix (Parker, AZ), I am even more excited. We are planning to have 17 TROPHYLITE trucks at this event. After talking with Casey Folks of Best in the Desert, it is clear that this course will be very challenging with mud holes, water crossing, big jumps, and most exciting of all, a land rush start! I cannot wait to witness the competition.

From here, I look into future and think of the possibilities for the series as a whole. Here at TROPHYLITE, we are working everyday to make this bigger and better while at the same time continuing towards our goals of keeping the racing affordable and doing our best to make sure race results are based talent and preparation rather than how much money is spent.
