Forest County Potawatomi “Fab Four” Seek WSORR Championships in 2007

April 10, 2007 - CRANDON, WI -- Four of the top professional
off-road race teams in the country are counting down the weeks to
the opening 2007 Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR)
event at Owatonna, MN, this coming May 19-20.
Headlining the potent Forest County Potawatomi Community off-road
team is PRO 4x4 racer Johnny Greaves, Abrams, WI. Greaves is the
back-to-back defending champion in the powerful high performance PRO
4x4 class. He was the Pro Driver of the Year in the Championship
Off-Road Racing Series last year.
Greaves will also be seeking to defend his FCP Chairman’s Cup win
from last season. The FCP Chairman’s Cup race at Crandon
International Off-Road Raceway is a heavy metal challenge event
between top 4x4 and 2-wheel drive pickup truck racers. Greaves, one
of the sport’s biggest super stars, will campaign his familiar
yellow and black Toyota Tundra 4x4.
In other WSORR classes, Jeff Kincaid, Argonne, WI, is racing his
colorful Forest County Potawatomi Toyota Tacoma in the PRO Light
Pickup class. Kincaid is a perennial class champion, winning 5 of
the last 7 PRO Light Pickup championships. He led the class points
chase much of last season before relinquishing the championship to
fellow Midwestern racer Chad Hord, Felch, MI.
“We are anticipating some thrilling PRO Light battles on WSORR’s
“Tour 2007”, said Doug Davis, general manager of WSORR. “The
match-up between Jeff Kincaid and his Potawatomi BF Goodrich Toyota
against Chad Hord and his Boss Plows Lucas Oil Kumho Tire Nissan are
already becoming legendary. The two drivers are friendly rivals but
very competitive on the track and have helped bring the sport to
where it is today,” he added.
“WSORR is honored to have the two top PRO Light Pickup drivers in
the U.S. racing for a Series championship”, said Davis. Both Lucas
Oil and the Forest County Potawatomi are major sponsors of the WSORR.
Representing the FCP “Fab Four” in the PRO 2WD class is the very
popular Evan Evans, Riverside, CA, driving his Potawatomi Racing
Chevrolet. Evans is looking for a break-out year on the WSORR Tour
2007.
With 24 career wins in the PRO 2WD class he knows his way to the
finish line but has found victories elusive the last couple of
years. That’s not a problem for Evans, whose mantra is “never give
up.” Injured in a motorcycle accident in 1989 and paralyzed from the
chest down, he was the first paraplegic racer to ever capture a
professional off-road racing title and enjoys a huge fan following.
Rounding out the FCP team is Ben Wandahsega, Bark River, MI.
Wandahsega enjoyed one of the greatest seasons in the history of the
sport in 2005, finishing on the podium in all but a single race and
completing the campaign with four wins. He was the 2005 Sportsman 2
Champion and series Driver of the Year. Wandahsega followed that up
in 2006 with one victory and four podium finishes in his bright red
FCP Toyo Tires Chevrolet.
"These four great champion drivers define the word competition on
the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing tour in 2007," said
Davis. “All four have proved they are among the best in the
business. Each has a goal of winning respective WSORR class titles
in our inaugural season,” he said.
The Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing features a high speed,
high impact off-road racing experience for racers and fans at key
tracks in Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin this coming
season. In addition to Lucas Oil and the FCP, other key WSORR
sponsors include BorgWarner, Toyo Tires, United Trailers, KC HiLites,
Skyjacker, among others.
