OFF-ROAD RACERS CASH IN BIG AT CRANDON; NEXT BIG PAYDAY AT BARK
RIVER
CRANDON, WI – The big money winner at WSORR’s FCP Brush Run Races at
Crandon Raceway June 23-24 was “Crandon Carl” Renezeder, Newport
Beach, Calif. His total take for competing in four class rounds of
racing (PRO 4x4 and PRO 2WD) and winning the 14th annual Potawatomi
Chairman’s Cup with contingency and personal contingency topped at
least $30,000.
Other PRO and WSORR SRT Division racers also cashed in large.
Helping reward the racers was WSORR’s mammoth $1.7 million
contingency program. PRO 2WD racer Michael Oberg won at least
$17,380 cash for the weekend and he has earned over $35,000 in PRO
racing from the first two WSORR events. Super Truck racer Ben
Wandahsega has earned $13,000, already more than he banked in a full
season last year.
The amounts listed below are WSORR and Crandon weekend cash prize
money and include cash contingency from tire manufacturers only. The
actual cash amount earned exceeds the figures shown:

Other big winners by class were Aaron Hawley, Las Vegas, Nev., in
the Super Buggy class winning $4,110; John Fitzgerald taking home
$2,520 in the 1600 Buggy class; Stock Truck racer Scott Beauchamp
won more than $3,000 while Eric Ruppel won over $2,000; and Formula
4x4 truck racer Larry Maciosek pocketed $1,600 for the weekend.
The next opportunity for WSORR racers to get a share of a guaranteed
$100,000 weekend cash purse is July 14-15. Bark River International
Off-Road Raceway hosts WSORR Rounds V & VI at the Boss Snowplow
Off-Road Challenge presented by Island Resort Casino.
