“DANGEROUS DAVE” FIRST TO REGISTER FOR 2K8 FCP CHAIRMAN’S CUP
BLOWOUT
CRANDON, Wisc. – A rookie Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing
PRO 2WD racer has the jump on the competition for the upcoming 2008
Forest County Potawatomi Chairman’s Cup Race at Crandon
International Off-Road Raceway the weekend of June 21-22. Dave
Waldvogel, Fond du Lac, Wisc., is primed and ready as the first
racer to officially enter one of racing’s biggest events.

The annual FCP Chairman’s Cup race at Crandon Raceway – the longest
running clash of its type in the nation -- is part of a huge weekend
of off-road thrills and spills as the “Big House” hosts the two-day
Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run Races.
"The heavy metal Potawatomi Chairman’s Cup is one of the most
anticipated events in all of racing -- not just off-road," said
Waldvogel. He has entered a high performance, high horsepower PRO
2WD Chevrolet race pickup in the event, sponsored by Bendix Brakes
and also Toyo Tires. "Our team is delighted to be the first to
register," said Waldvogel, who has earned the moniker “Dangerous
Dave – The Human Highlight Reel” for his explosive style of off-road
racing and his fan-appealing attacks on track jumps. "We are
particularly happy to get this recognition for all our sponsors and
our team before we even hit the Crandon track," he said.
Top off-road truck racers nationwide will descend on Crandon for the
event. Waldvogel’s entry was quickly followed by that of Dan “The
Flying Dutchman” Vanden Heuvel, also registering a PRO 2WD. The
Appleton, Wisc., native is in his 30th year of racing at Crandon.
"There is no doubt that Crandon Raceway is the greatest off-road
track in the country," said Waldvogel. "I have a lot of fans who
attend the Crandon races and maybe this is the year a PRO rookie
driver wins this big race," he said. “I will give it all I have
every yard of this 10-lap shootout,” he said.
"I'd like to bring the Cup back to Wisconsin," said Waldvogel,
referring to defending champion Carl Renezeder. Renezeder, Newport
Beach, Calif., won the Chairman's Cup last year in the most exciting
version of the race in history. Campaigning a brand new race truck
for the first time, Renezeder went from last place to first place in
the course of the 15 mile race to take the win.

Off-road race fans can witness Waldvogel’s run for his first
Potawatomi Chairman’s Cup win at the FCP Brush Run Races. The
venerable off-road raceway achieved the second largest crowd in
history last year at the Brush Run Races under new sanctioning body,
the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing.
In addition to the Forest County Potawatomi, other key 2008 sponsors
at Crandon Raceway include BorgWarner, Lucas Oil Products, TRAXXAS,
Toyo Tires, Potawatomi Northern Lights Casino, Indian Springs Lodge,
Built Ford Tough Trucks, Miller Lite, Skyjacker Suspensions, General
Tire, MasterCraft Race Products, Bergstrom Ford, Baumgart Tire,
Miller Electric Welders, Parsons Chevrolet, Mad Croc, Associated
Bank, Nortrax, KC, Racin’ Dirty, among others. WSORR sponsors
include Lucas Oil, Forest County Potawatomi, TRAXXAS, General Tires,
United Trailers, BorgWarner, Skyjacker, Super Clean, E3 Spark Plugs,
