Eric
Ruppel Has Strong Weekend in Crandon
June 27, 2007 (Chetek, WI) - After a disastrous opening weekend in
Owatonna, Minnesota, Eric Ruppel was looking forward to the chance to
show his competitors, and supporters, that the #837 Phil’s Inc. Art Carr
Transmission Chetek Off-Road BFGoodrich Ford F-150 is a contender for
the championship.
Round 3
At the start Eric came out of Potawatomi Turn One in third place, just
behind #863 Al Konitzer and #820 Scott Beauchamp. The top three
basically stayed the same, all the way to the checkered flag. 1st –
Beauchamp, 2nd – Konitzer, and 3rd Eric Ruppel.
Afterwards Eric commented, “I knew the truck could stay with the front
runners, but about four laps into the race I lost my brakes. At that
point I really concentrated on not blowing any of the corners. I really
put the Art Carr transmission to the test. I had to use the tranny to
slow down in the corners. Hats off to my crew, Kent and Mark. We will go
back tonight, fix the brakes, and hopefully be back on the podium
tomorrow.”
The Ruppel Motorsports crew found a broken fitting in one of the rear
brake lines, and easily had it repaired by dinner.
Round 4
Eric had the #837 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 really wound up as he grabbed
the holeshot coming down the landrush start. If fact, Eric held the top
spot all the way to the checkered flag. He was followed closely by #820
Scott Beauchamp in second, and #885 Don Demeny in third.
“Wow, I cleared everyone coming out of Turn One and kept the clean air
out front,” remarked Eric Ruppel. “We still have some sort of brake
issue, but the Art Carr transmission handled all the abuse and got us
home first. The BFGoodrich Tires got us the holeshot and the AMSOIL kept
the engine and trans running cool. Thanks again to my crew and Deanne,
my wife.”
Eric Ruppel is currently in fifth place in the 2007 WSORR Stock Truck
Championship Standings.
Next Race – July 14-15, WSORR Boss Snow Plow Challenge – Bark River,
Michigan.
