Hankook Tire &
Sticker Dude Motorsports Renew Partnership for 2008 WSORR Season
Lake
Zurich, IL (May 15, 2008) - Sticker Dude Motorsports enters its
second season with Hankook Tire America Corporation, as their
exclusive supplier of off-road race tires for Lucas Oil World
Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR).
The 2007 WSORR season saw Sticker Dude Motorsports land on the
podium five times, including #23 Pro-Light driver, Lee
O’Donnell’s third place in the opening round of the season.
“Landing on the podium the first time out for a tire
manufacturer, in any form of professional motorsports, is
unheard of,” commented Pro-Light driver Lee O’Donnell. “There
are five different tire manufacturers supporting the PRO-Light
division. Some have been in this sport for decades, and to be
able to finish in the top three the first time out, shows what
an awesome tire Hankook manufactures.”
Not to be outdone by his teammate, Steven Federico and his
#24Invisible Glass PF Changs Hankook Tire Toyota Tacoma,
finished in second place in Round 2 of the 2007 WSORR season.
“Like Lee mentioned, this is one awesome tire,” states Steve
Federico. “Our previous tire brands would begin to wear about
halfway through a race. With the Hankook Tires, the traction
level is very constant throughout the entire race. The Hankook
Tires really become an advantage in the second half of the
round.”
The traction characteristics were so evident in the Super Buggy
division, where the third member of the team, Luke Zoetmulder,
competes, that other teams went to their local tire distributor
to purchase Hankook Tires for their race cars.
”We’ve talked about the impressive Hankook traction, I can’t
forget to mention the great support team Hankook has put in
place,” noted Zoetmulder. “Their insightful knowledge and
presence at the track is a real boost for the team.”
As the year went on, Federico finished second, two more times
and third, once. After the WSORR season, the team headed to Las
Vegas for the final weekend of racing in the Championship
Off-Road Racing (CORR) series. Again, Lee O’Donnell gave Hankook
Tire its first podium finish, in its first CORR competition,
with third place.
The combination of large crowds at WSORR events, the performance
of Steven, Luke, and Lee, on and off the track, and the SPEED
channel broadcast of every WSORR round of racing, continues to
create a win-win partnership for Hankook Tire and Team Sticker
Dude Racing.
The opening round of racing for the 2008 WSORR Championship
begins May 31 at the Lucas Oil Speedway, in Wheatland, MO.
