Toyo® Drivers Score Victories, Extend WSORR Championship Points
During Rounds III and IV at Crandon
CRANDON, WISCONSIN – Team Toyo™ Off-Road drivers, Dave Waldvogel, Kevin
Probst and Josh Hintz all scored victories during Rounds III & IV of the
Lucas Oil World Championship Off-Road Racing (WSORR) series at Crandon
International Raceway this past weekend. In addition, double runner-up
finisher in the Super Stock Truck class was Ben Wandahsega, extending
his class points lead for the 2007 championship. All of these winning
competitors raced on Open Country M/T® tires by Toyo.
The efforts of Waldvogel and Wandahsega are helping to make Toyo the
dominant tire in this year’s Super Stock Truck class. Piloting his
Bendix / Toyo Tires Chevy Silverado, Waldvogel held off a charging
Wandahsega in his Forest County Potawatomi / Toyo Tires Chevy Silverado,
followed by Keith Steele in third for identical finishing positions
during the class finals on both Saturday and Sunday. Waldvogel now has
84 championship points for second in the 2007 championship after four
rounds, while Wandahsega leads with 92 points. This is the first season,
and first class victories for Waldvogel since switching from Stock Truck
to Super Stock Truck for 2007.
"The Toyo Open Country M/T's launched us to the front of the pack both
days in slick, muddy early race conditions. The only truck that had
anything for us in either race was Ben Wandahsega...and he is on Toyo's
too”, said Waldvogel about last weekend’s races. He then stated, “The
WSORR Super Stock Truck class is the ultimate proving ground for DOT,
off-the-shelf tires, and the Toyo Open Country M/T has shown it is
superior in any track condition. These tires just plain hook up!"
During Round III on Saturday, Josh Hintz piloted his 1600 Light Buggy
class Toyo Tires / Dedicated Systems VW-powered open wheel racer beating
a large field of 29 cars to the checkered flag. On Sunday, Kevin Probst
drove his Simply WOW / Toyo Tires Chevy Silverado truck to a win in the
high-horsepower Pro 2WD class.
“Team Toyo drivers had a great weekend at the historic Crandon race
track this past weekend. We congratulate all of our drivers for their
podium finishes”, stated Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports,
Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation.
